Tim began his career at the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office in 1990 as a Detention Deputy.  In 1995, Tim was promoted to Deputy Sheriff and was assigned to the Adult Detention Division.  After he was transferred to the Court Security Unit he was selected to be one of the original deputies assigned to provide security to the Hennepin County welfare buildings.  Tim was later assigned to the Civil Unit and is currently assigned to the Warrant Unit.   While assigned to the Warrant Unit, Tim worked on the street serving arrest warrants as well as working in the extradition office where he was in charge of arranging the return of inmates both to and from other states. Although Tim is currently assigned to the Warrant Unit, he is on loan to the Federal Bureau of Investigations and is part of the Minnesota Fugitive Task Force.

Tim attended and received an Associate of Arts Degree from Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, Minnesota as well as an Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Minneapolis Community College. 

Tim is a single father of two girls, ages twelve and eight.

Tim was elected Secretary of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Deputies Association in 2007.  He is also currently a Director on the Police Officers Association of Minnesota and held the position of Vice President for Detention Deputy Union in the early 1990’s.

Tim stays busy volunteering his time for the local athletic program in Prior Lake, where he is responsible for organizing both grade level girls basketball and softball programs.  He also enjoys hunting, fishing and traveling.

“I would like to thank everyone for the support they are showing towards the Association.  I understand that not everyone is going to be happy with every decision that is made by the board, but I can tell you that it has been our goal to improve our standing since day one.  We have some lofty goals for 2010 and hope these future accomplishments will strengthen our position with the county board as well as our position within the law enforcement community. We will continue to fight for our member’s rights and strive to provide the best legal protection to our members.  I am looking forward to the challenges of 2010 and serving you as Association Secretary.”
