Sheri Bukkila first started her career with Hennepin County as a contractual dispatcher in the Security Operations Center in 1995. A short time later she was promoted to lead dispatcher. In 1997, Sheri became an intern as a Security Officer. In 1998, she was brought on as a full-time employee. While working as a Security Officer, Sheri completed her Associate in Science Degree in Criminal Justice and received her Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T.) certification. In 2004, Sheri was hired by the Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff.  Sheri initially started in the Adult Detention Division and was transferred to the Court Security Unit in 2006.

In January 2009, Sheri was elected to the Andover City Council. She is on a variety of boards including the Andover Fire Relief Association, Economic Development Authority (Co-Treasurer), Andover Station Business Owner's Association, the Housing Redevelopment Authority, Property Taxation and Review, and the Public Works Committee (Chair).

Sheri has served on the board for the Hennepin County Sheriff's Deputies Association since 2006 first as a Steward and then as a Trustee. She has previously worked on the contract negotiations team and is currently the Political Action Committee (PAC) Chair and the Public Relations Officer. Her time is dedicated to bringing the deputies into the community and developing partnerships.

Sheri is an active member of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA). On behalf of the HCSDA, Sheri also participates in the MPPOA's annual trip to Washington D.C. to meet with the Minnesota Congressional delegation to relay current trends and stress the need for law enforcement funding all across Minnesota.

Sheri is happily married and a mother of two boys. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, gardening and spending quality time with her family.
